Follow-Up to Hank Ayala and website updates!

Hank Ayala and I had a great time last Saturday evening with our interview on KVMR-FM. I played mostly music from Texas and south Louisiana, and definitly brought back a few memories for Hank. And, it seems I played a few songs he had not heard before. Hank is a great guy, and is pleased he could make the recording, and quite frankly, it's really good. Betty Jo is the plug side, and the flip is called Handsome. It's an odd one, but Hank carries it through. I hope to get a page up with the record in the near future.

This Saturday I have a 12 minute recorded interview with Vince Castro to play on my radio show. You can bet I will play Bong Bong, Too Proud To Cry, and a couple others. He also has recorded a few pop standards as of late, and I plan to get one or two of those a spin.

Massive website updates. All the work, but it is really hard for someone to see. If I listed all the pages that were modified, this blog edition might look like a link farm. Check out the Turbans demo, 6 new first and second labels, a new one hour audio file, and the Barney Tall I mentioned in an earlier post on the Domino label page. There is lot's more, but you can search around if you have the time. There are a few more to come, but 90 per cent of what I had piled up is done....until tomorrow!

How about a little advanced notice? Every year I keep thinking I will make a Halloween record page, and I just never get there. One of the most interesting radio shows I do is the Halloween show, this year on October 28th. I play some of the strangest records in my collection for a full two hours. You won't hear them anywhere else. I'm sure I will remind you later in October. Since the radio show is streamed live, anyone can hear it with an internet connection.

Geez, I guess I could do that with Christmas records too. I better not get started with that! So many records to collect and so little time. Even better is trying to find those records you didn't think were ever made, and they just show up. Doesn't happen often, but what a surprise when it does.
